It's been a while

Early last year I wrote the opening to a story called "Gothic". I didn't really like it when I finished the intro to it. So, I put it in the back of my mind (and files). Last night I came up with a better concept for it.

So, I'll hopefully write it, and post it on my chapter blogger very soon.

In other news, I decided to try going back to the basics/roots I think almost every aspiring author starts out with anymore practice wise - fanfiction. Admittedly, the closest one to finished is a gay story. But it in itself is a trial base for something better and original. Hopefully, that will work out well too.

Things are really on hiatus for me writing wise due to overtime at work, and new live-in here at home.

Dragon and Phoenix

Yet another story concept.

Basically it's taking the ideas of aeons and such and putting them in another perspective. This one dealing more in galaxies and such. It's more centering around the idea of how the Yin and Yang symbol is traditionally (at least I read somewhere) representative of the Phoenix and the Dragon. I wondered how these two would become both enemies and lovers. It's a concept of different worlds meeting and syncing. All that junk. Not really of forbidden love... just more... How war tears people apart... how hate does that... and how love can lead to amazing things.

Why is that only fantasy stories can only tell such tells perfectly? Anyway, I hope I can do well with it.

I'm not talking about your normal romance

There has been another story running around in my head for a long time now. Honestly, what's been holding me back the most is the name. I've decided to call it The Stop at Cafe Masala. Cafe Masala is actually a real place here in Columbus. I asked the owner if I could use her cafe name in the book and she said yes. So, I'm hoping to start this soon. What I think I'm going to do is run her off a copy of the story when it's done. That way she can take her company name off of it if she wants to.

This isn't your typical romance novel. I don't intend to include any steamy hot love scenes. The sensuality will be present as I guess is typical of my stories. I also don't expect it to stand out in the crowd. I honestly don't expect anything I write to do so. What has been annoying me for ages now is that when you pick up a novel with homosexuality in it, or bi-sexuality no one seems to acknowledge the hetro-community. Or vice versa. I intend to change that. They also fail to recognize the fundamentals of what bi-sexuality is: attraction to both genders. I hope to change that with this book. I may actually use the name in another story. But I needed a coffee shop name... and this neat cafe stop, with it's homey atmosphere and informal following seemed perfect. I hope it stays that way. I am not going to be using the story to make some type of statement to the world, just wanting to satisfy something that has always bothered me personally.

I've begun a new story

I've begun a new story called Onyx. While I am not completely sure how long I will stick with this story as it is merely a side project along with another one I have in mind dedicated to the 30 kisses community on Livejournal, I have to admit I like the concept of this story greatly. I do have to wonder though if the many feminists in the world will be unhappy with it. While it is not my intention to shoot down the progress women's rights have made, some who possibly will not look in to the practical points of the story may see this. An edited version will appear on my website as the story is really intended to be geared towards a young adult audience. This version, while it may or may not be printed if completed, will be housed on the usual spot on Adult Fanfiction.Net.

The story is heavily influenced by ancient Japanese and Chinese settings in mind. While it will probably not house the traditions of these great cultures, they are to thank for their influence in my mind's eye for the palaces, surroundings, clothing, and such. But one must tip a hat to Arabic, Norse, and Celtic influences as well. If I see I will have more than one chapter done soon, I will post a blurb about it.

Recently

I have been putting together ideas for summons for Right of the Summoner. One would think this would be easy, but it's not. As many are based on mythology. But I'm working it out.

Oh, this is the first post here isn't it? Duh. Welcome to all my readers. I'm an author who is working on getting my works published. Er, I like cheese? And chocolate. Not together... unless it's tiramisu. :P
